Kerri Golombecki - Executive Director
As a St. Cloud native, Kerri's dance career began 24 years ago with a purple costume and a song about a bear. Since then, she's expanded her vocabulary largely thanks to the opportunities she had while at Winona State University, where she graduated in 2010. Along with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communication (emphasis in Public Relations) and minors in Dance and Business Administration, Kerri acquired a thirst for dance as an art form while at WSU.
During her college career she was heavily involved with the WSU dance program, productions and club, as well as attended the American College Dance Festival multiple times.
Kerri's passion for the arts and wanting to share her love of dance with others led her to directing the Lewiston Just For Kix program 2008-2010.
Upon moving back to St. Cloud, Kerri was ecstatic to find the opportunity to continue dancing when she learned about MDE. In 2012, she took over the position of Executive Director and continues to strive toward making the company more widely known.
Cat Barnes - Artistic Director
Cat's dancing career has spanned over the last 24 years. She took a few short breaks from dance to start her job as a mother, but always found her way back to the studio and stage. Her love for dance has been passed onto her beautiful, energetic girls: Trichelle and Rylie.
Cat has danced for studios and high school dance lines across Minnesota. She continues her passion for dance with the Apollo Astronettes Performance Team, a local high school dance team, where she is in her 2nd season as the head coach.
Cat graduated in 2012 from St. Cloud State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies, emphasizing in Intercultural Communication, with minors in Applied Relational Conflict Management and Women's Studies.
Cat is a NCCPT personal trainer at Fitness Evolution. She enjoys coaching the community in healthy living and helping create fitness based lifestyles for everyone. She is also busy as a group fitness instructor, specifically Zumba and Pilates.
Julie Alsaker (2013-Current)
Julie is an entrepreneur and owns several small local companies with her husband, Brian, in the parking and hospitality industry. She also owns a health and fitness company and is a certified American Sign Language Interpreter specializing in the medical field.
Julie started her first dance classes at the age of four. Although she spent most of her years in gymnastics, her favorite area to compete was floor, where she had the opportunity to combine tumbling and dance. In college she joined the dance team and more recently has been with a local studio performing with their young adult class. In all her years of dance experience, her favorite dancing is at home twirling
around the living room with her two little girls.
Brittni Cleland (2011-Current)
Dance has always been a part of Brittni’s life in one aspect or another - it has helped her through life’s ups and down and has molded her into the woman she is today. Going into her third year as a company dancer, Brittni has learned more about what it means to be a dancer in the past few years than in her whole dance career. Modern dance has changed her life for the better.
Brittni has a Bachelor’s degree in Health and Human Services, majoring in Community Health as well as minoring in Athletic Coaching and Psychology. She is currently working at Fitness Evolution as a Health Fitness Professional helping clients and members achieve personal measurable goals through personal training, teaching group fitness classes and coaching CrossFit. On the side of work and being in the dance company, she is participating in a grant project called MathsmART’s with the Paramount Theatre, teaching second graders math through dance. Brittni is also a volunteer dance line member of the Granite City Renegades Semi-Pro Football Team.
