Executive Director

Status: permanent part-time position

Location: St. Cloud, MN

 

The Minnesota Dance ensemble was founded in 2003 in St. Cloud, Minnesota.  Company repertoire is created predominantly in the dance styles of modern and jazz. Minnesota Dance Ensemble is committed to the advancement and education of dance as an art form in the central Minnesota community through workshops, master classes and performances to foster creativity in all age groups.

 

Job Summary: The Executive Director serves as the chief administrative officer of the Minnesota Dance Ensemble and is responsible for all financial, development, administrative and programmatic operations of the organization.

 

Requirements:

·         Demonstrate an understanding of and a commitment to the mission

·         High level of initiative and the ability to work independently

·         Ability to nurture multiple tasks simultaneously at different stages of development.

·         Ability to write and speak clearly and concisely

·         Ability to make decisions and solve problems

·         Ability to deal with conflict effectively and resolve concerns as needed in a respectful and professional manner.

·         Knowledge and experience with dance programming

·         Grant writing experience

·         Knowledge of Community resources

·         Ability to travel as needed.

·         3 year commitment required.

·         Excluded from dancing within the company

 

 

Artistic Director

Job Summary: The Artistic Director serves as the chief artistic leader of the Minnesota Dance Ensemble and is responsible for the artistic and educational presentation of all Minnesota Dance Ensemble programming

 

Requirements:

·         Extensive experience in the art of dance, particularly in areas of performance and choreography.

·         College level dance experience and/or degree preferred.

·         A strong and renewable artistic vision and an ability to consistently choreograph new dance works in the preferred company styles of jazz and modern.

·         Demonstrate an understanding of and a commitment to the mission and the company.

·         High level of initiative and the ability to work independently

·         Ability to make decisions and solve problems

·         Ability to deal with conflict effectively and resolve concerns as needed in a respectful and professional manner.

·         Knowledge and experience with dance production and educational programming.

·         Ability to travel as needed.
·         3 year commitment required.

Hello Folks!
 
MDE's Annual giving campaign has begun!! we are asking for you help in purchsing costumes and
rehearsal space for the season. We only need to raise $1000 by December 31st and any amount
is greatly appreciated.
 
With experienced directors, a cast composed of eight talented dancers and an exciting
production in the works, Minnesota Dance Ensemble has commenced the 2011-2012 season!
 
Dance pieces are currently being created for MDE’s annual production, which will take place
in April. This year's show is titled Amalgamation and it is the process of
combining or uniting multiple entities into one form. Like pieces of a puzzle, the elements of
MDE’s 8th annual Paramount Production come together. Some slowly, some swiftly, but all
likely to engage your senses and increase your awareness of dance in everyday life.
 
Since the company was founded in 2003, MDE has made some tremendous gains within
Central Minnesota and continues to explore dance as a discipline and art form. This season,
MDE has begun to offer youth dance workshops to local organizations in effort to fulfill the
mission of cultivating young dancers.  
 
As the company moves forward, we are asking for your support to continue developing the art
of dance within the central Minnesota community – below you will find a sponsorship guide.
